The world is celebrating the International Year of the Potato. For 366 days, the potato will be a worldwide star.
Last October the United Nations had declared 2008 as " The International Year of the Potato ", with the goal of calling global attention to the important role this nutritious Andean tuber plays in the fight against hunger and poverty around the world.
In their mission to spread the word the Peruvian Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Patronato de las Artes del Peru and Dona Luz Restaurant, have organized this Ontario-wide contest that takes place from February 06 to March 28.
