Mary Luz Mejia is a Colombian-born, Canadian-raised writer (food is her passion), researcher, non-fiction / documentary producer and cook.
With a professional background encompassing food writing for print, television and the Internet, as well as working in food television as an associate producer/researcher and director, Mary Luz Mejia brings a unique, global perspective to the table. She has written everything from literary profiles, travel, lifestyle and business articles to pieces related to her favourite subject - food!. Her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Asian Gourmet Magazine, Edible Toronto, AMOI, The Queen's University Alumni Review and in the United States, Mary Luz's writing has been published in SAVEUR and LATINA MAGAZINE. Online, she's the FOOD TRENDS columnist for Suite101.com, a web-based magazine out of Vancouver, B.C.
When not writing or working behind the scenes of a TV series (including SunTV's Street Eats and "At the Table With..." for the Food Network Canada) , she can be found taking cooking classes where ever her travels take her (favourites include Madrid, Spain, Cusco, Peru, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL ) and embracing her love of good food from around the world and its vibrant cultural traditions.
